The Alvarez AD70W features the most popular acoustic guitar body style; the dreadnought.
Dreadnought body types are incredibly popular due to their great range of tones made possible thanks to the dreadnought's size and shape.
For the Alvarez AD70W's top, a solid A+ Sitka Spruce soundboard has been used. Probably the most popular wood in acoustic guitar building, and certainly one of the most versatile, Spruce offers a fantastic tone and is ideal for a wide variety of genres.
Furthermore, since the AD70W features a solid top, it gives you fantastic tone and resonance which will improve with age.
Walnut has been used for the back and sides of the Alvarez AD70W, enhancing the bass and trebles of your tone.
What's more, Walnut makes a great visual contrast to the lighter coloured Spruce top with its much darker grain, adding to the great looks of this classic style acoustic guitar.
All In The Detail
The neck holds a Pau Ferro fretboard which features great looking Abalone and Mother of Pearl inlays.
ABS ivory body binding strengthens the Alvarez AD70W's build while also adding an extra visual layer.
Within the guitar, forward shifted, X-style bracing is used, giving the soundboard more room to move therefore producing louder, more resonant tones.
Furthermore, the bracing and tone bars are scalloped, increased the movement potential of the solid Sitka Spruce top for even better sound.
Up on the headstock is a set of premium tuning machines providing precise and secure tuning of your strings.
Genuine bone has been used for the nut and saddle, increasing sustain while adding a natural character to your tone.
