Alvarez have made the AD6012CE with a dreadnought style body, the most popular body type for acoustic guitars.
This popularity is due in no small part to the dreadnought's versatility, giving you a broad range of tones with strong low end, solid mid range and articulate high end.
A cutaway is in place, granting easy access to the higher frets giving you even more performance potential.
For the top, Alvarez have opted for solid A+ Sitka Spruce. Spruce is probably the most popular wood when it comes to acoustic instruments as it is incredibly versatile due to its strength and elasticity.
Furthermore, as it is a solid top, you get fantastic tone and resonance from the start and better yet; it gets better with age.
Mahogany has been used for the back and sides, with its rich colouring complementing the lighter hue of the AD60-12CE's Sitka Spruce top while enhancing the brighter end of your tone.
All In The Detail
Attached to the body of the Alvarez AD6012CE 12-string guitar is a Mahogany neck that features a 50/50 semi-gloss finish for quick and comfortable playability.
Within the dreadnought cutaway body is FST2 bracing. This bracing pattern uses an X-brace style design that is forward shifted to allow the solid top more freedom to move. As a result, you get increased volume and more dynamic response.
Furthermore, the braces and asymmetric tone bars in the FST2 bracing system have been scalloped to allow even more room for the solid A+ Sitka Spruce top to move and resonate, further enhancing tone.
A bi-level Pau Ferro bridge is fitted to the top of the Alvarez AD60-12CE providing great transfer of string energy to the guitar's soundboard. What's more; the bi-level, stepped design of the bridge provides a better string break angle over the bone saddle for improved output and performance.
Matching the saddle is a bone nut, providing enhanced sustain while adding a beautifully natural brightness to your tone.
