Beautifully Crafted
The large rounded body of this acoustic bass features the classic combination of Sitka Spruce and Mahogany.
For the top, Alvarez have opted for solid A+ Sitka Spruce. Probably the most popular wood in acoustic instrument crafting, Spruce is known for its broad range of tones and excellent versatility.
Being a solid top, it already gives you superior tone that will only improve with age.
The back and sides are made of Mahogany, with its darker colouring contrasting the lighter Spruce top while adding a bright richness to your tone.
A cutaway makes it easy to reach the top frets of the Alvarez AB60CE so it's great for adventurous bass lines.
The neck itself is made from Mahogany and features a 50/50 semi-gloss finish for great playability.
High Quality Hardware
Up on the 2x2 headstock is a set of premium die cast tuners providing precise and secure tuning of your strings.
The nut is made from real bone, offering great sustain while adding a lively brightness to your tone.
Down on the body is a bi-level Pau Ferro bridge. This stepped bridge design improves the string break angle over the saddle. improving output and performance.
Matching the nut, the saddle is also made from nut, offering great transfer from your strings to the resonating solid A+ Sitka Spruce top of the Alvarez AB60CE.
LR Baggs Electronics
Allowing you to take to the stage and plug in the Alvarez AB60CE electro-acoustic bass is a set of LR Baggs electronics.
With an LR Baggs Element Stage Pro preamp installed, you get excellent control over your sound with 3-band EQ and more.
Within the body of the AB60CE is an LR Baggs Element pickup. With this special type of acoustic pickup, the movement of the AB60CE's soundboard is tracked.
While standard acoustic pickups just capture the string vibration resulting in your tone sounding dead and brittle, the LR Baggs Element gives you the authentic sound of your instrument's body.
