Akai MPC Live is a hybrid workstation for live performance and powerful studio production. With a similar footprint and layout as the MPC Touch, MPC Live now provides a standalone solution without the requirement of PC or Laptop connectivity.
Take the MPC Live anywhere creativity strikes - it's even battery powered for truly portable production.
The Next Generation of Standalone
Akai MPC Live represents a forward step from MPC Touch, MPC Studio and MPC Renaissance - a hybrid of all 3 systems in one compact, road-ready unit.
The latest incarnation of the legendary Akai MPC 'Music Production Centre' features a full-colour, 7” multi-touch screen, 16 amazingly responsive, velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB pads and 16 gigs of internal storage. At the heart of MPC Live lies the powerful MPC 2.0 Software - all run inside-the-box. MPC Software 2.0 can also be run from a Mac or PC as a plugin in all popular DAWs, or as a full-featured standalone application.
Weighing in at less than 6 pounds, the Akai MPC Live ushers in a new era of ultra-portable production. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and packing 16 gigs of on-board storage, the MPC Live features numerous ways to take your beloved sample library and MPC sessions anywhere.

With older MPC designs, we were limited to a tiny pixel screen to trim audio files and navigate your sequences. A full-colour 7" touch screen now makes everything faster, more precise and intuitive. Instantly see where you are in your project, cut and chop samples in no time, and spend more time creating new musical ideas.
Many have come close, but nobody has quite captured the response of authentic Akai MPC drum pads. The backlit-RGB pads on MPC Live feel every bit as responsive as the iconic MPC 2000, 2500 and 4000, but with the modern benefits of colour co-ordination! The same note repeat, quantize and swing parameters still feature - creating beats is a breeze on MPC Live.
Akai MPC Live also features 4 Touch-capacitive Q-Links controls with OLED displays - a dream come true for trimming samples and tweaking parameters on the fly. Sequencer buttons provide direct access to all aspects of MPC Software 2.0. Navigate the on-board sequencer in no time at all, with a full transport control section to overdub and record as you play.
The Most Powerful MPC Ever
In terms of hardware, Akai MPC Live has a wealth of Input and Output connectivity to make it a central part of your live or studio setup. A Stereo 1/4" Jack input is ideal for synths and other line level instruments, as well as an RCA Phono connection for direct turntable sampling. After all, the joy of sampling vinyl is at the core of what made the classic MPC workflow legendary! 4 Mono Jack Outputs also open up MPC Live to connect to multiple mixers or speakers.MIDI I/O and USB Inputs also make connection to MIDI Controllers and Keyboards seamless.
Pre-installed with 10 gigs of world-class sounds, The Vault 2.0 features samples and kits from top-notch sound design companies including Capsun Audio, MVP Loops, CR2 Records, as well as Akai's in-house content. The MPC Live also features a 2.5” SATA drive connector providing additional storage via installation of a fixed hard drive – SSD or HDD (sold separately). Additionally, your own custom sounds can be accessed and added to the library using the built-in SD Card slot or the USB thumb drive.
