Adding low end extension down to 32Hz the DXS18 is the ideal complement to Yamaha's DSR, DXR, and DBR speaker systems and indeed any PA system after a little more heft. The incredible sound quality can be attributed to the high grade 18" woofer, 1020 watt amp and new cabinet design. Proprietary Yamaha technology and DSP allows the further refinement and adjustment that modern engineers demand.
The Cardioid mode setting adds additional control of low frequencies for sub-woofer arrays of two or more DXS18 speakers, effectively reducing the SPL of bass directed towards the stage while increasing the bass levels directed towards the audience.
