We were looking to purchase an electronic drum kit for our son. We visited PMT back in September to have a look at the range of items they had. While there an assistant came to offer help and advice on the different sets that were available. My son was also allowed to try them out too. After choosing one he liked we went away to research as it was intended for a Christmas present. On looking the item up it showed that for the same money you could get extra items. We then returned and asked if they would price match as we believe in trying to support the local business, but ultimately things do come down to price and value. To our delight they were happy to price match, and as a result we even upgraded. The service from viewing to purchasing was really good, as these musical instruments are not cheap and you need good honest advice when purchasing. Would totally recommend this company.

Overview

The stage-ready Mini-E Mahogany features Taylor's upgraded ES2 electronics system, offering a much more dynamic, expressive plugged-in tone than previous incarnations. A unique patented behind-the-saddle pickup, with under-body sensors and upgraded pre-amp combine for a much more accurate replication of your acoustic tone in a live environment. The ES2 system is easy to use, with a simple 3-way knob control, so your focus is always on the music.

Since its introduction in 2010 the Taylor GS Mini-E has served as a stalwart for guitarists that wanted the best possible tone from a portable and compact acoustic guitar. Derived from the Grand Symphony models, Taylor have managed to condense the unique tonal properties of the full-sized GS into a travel-sized package.

The Sapele back and sides and mahogany top offer up a tone thats warm and belays the diminuative nature of the GS Mini-E. Mahogany tends to add a strong, fundamental Mid-Range frequency focus, often described as “punchy,” “woody,” or “dry,” without a lot of ringing overtones.

Smaller or younger players might find its compact body shape and shorter scale length more comfortable than a full sized Taylor! Travelers, songwriters, and anyone looking for an extra portable guitar will love having a guitar small enough to sling over their shoulder and take anywhere.
