Excellent Birmingham store service - Dave A****
I was greeted by a chap called Dave and i explained i was interested in buying another guitar, a Fender Stratocaster to be precise. I explained i wanted to try a few options and in particular i was attracted to flashy looking guitars. I selected several to play and Dave took me to a practice room where i spent a couple of hours playing different guitars. His knowledge was excellent and he was very patient. Dave listened to what i wanted as a musician and provided the right equipment when i needed it followed by advice on the differences between each one. I settled on a very good guitar and a couple of pedals. If you are going to buy from PMT, GO TO THE BIRMINGHAM STORE.

Overview

The Taylor 522e combines the portability and playability of the smaller-bodied Grand Concert bodyshape with the prominent, focused sound of a Mahogany body wood. It responds well to players with a strong attack who like dry, earthy, low-fi sounds, but with a natural compression. Its compact dimensions make for a physically comfortable guitar with an intimate feel and sound that will work well for blues, country and ragtime picking, with the added playing comfort of a short-scale (24-7/8-inch) neck.

Taylor’s smallest full-size shape has compact dimensions all around, which make for a physically comfortable, lap-friendly playing experience. The Grand Concert’s slight waist and shallower body depth help produce a balanced sound across the tonal spectrum, with the kind of note definition that fingerstyle guitarists and session and stage players tend to appreciate. The smaller body also means the guitar’s voice won’t take up too much sonic space in a mix with other instruments. This makes the 522e a good match for people with smaller hands, older players, people with hand ailments, and really anyone looking to reduce the stress on their fretting hand.

Taylor’s breakthrough Expression System 2 acoustic pickup marks a major advance in piezo technology thanks to a patented behind-the-saddle design. The unique placement of three piezo sensors captures a more dynamic range of acoustic sound and responds well in a variety of settings.

Distinctive appointments on the 522E include a black pickguard, ivoroid binding and rosette, and an ivoroid Century fretboard inlay. Branded Taylor hard case also included.

As with all Taylor Acoustics, the 500 series employ their patented NT Neck (New Technology) design, ebony fretboard and Elixir strings for a comfortable playing experience. With Taylor's ongoing commitment to sustainable tonewood sourcing, they are supporting the highest levels of ethical, eco-conscious business.
