We were looking to purchase an electronic drum kit for our son. We visited PMT back in September to have a look at the range of items they had. While there an assistant came to offer help and advice on the different sets that were available. My son was also allowed to try them out too. After choosing one he liked we went away to research as it was intended for a Christmas present. On looking the item up it showed that for the same money you could get extra items. We then returned and asked if they would price match as we believe in trying to support the local business, but ultimately things do come down to price and value. To our delight they were happy to price match, and as a result we even upgraded. The service from viewing to purchasing was really good, as these musical instruments are not cheap and you need good honest advice when purchasing. Would totally recommend this company.

Overview

Following in the footsteps of it's older brother, the original X1, the SE Electronics X1A condenser provides studio-quality performance at a very affordable price. The perfect way to start your home recording setup.

High quality mic - entry-level price tag!

With a newly-designed condenser capsule, super low-noise electronics, a robust metal chassis and versatile features, the X1 A yet again redefines what is possible for a "first microphone". Whether your're recording vocal ideas, full songs, acoustic instruments or broadcasting for radio or podcasts, the X1A delivers for even the tightest budget.

New Acoustic Design Principle

The X1 A's new condenser capsule design is a work of art, delivering stellar sonic performance on any source with incredible speed, accuracy, and well-balanced frequency response.

All Metal Chassis

Unlike the cheaply constructed bodies of some other "entry-level" microphones, the X1 A's all-metal chassis provides efficient rejection of any electrical interference and noise - and the high-quality finish ensures a great look for years to come.

Super Low-Noise Electronics

The electronics have also undergone a complete overhaul, and exhibit better specifications and sound - on and off the test bench - than any other microphone in its class.

20dB Pad & Low-Cut Filter

The -20 dB pad switch on the left provides extended dynamic range, enabling a wide range of applications and close-mic techniques for even the loudest instruments...think super-heavy electric guitars, fortissimo brass instruments, and heavy-footed kick drums. On the right, the 100 Hz low-cut switch helps eliminate low-frequency rumble or footfall noise, and compensates for excessive bass with close-mic techniques (proximity effect).

The X1 A comes complete with a rock-solid, newly designed swivel mic clip and thread adapter to fit with any mic stand.
