PRS CE24, For The Players
The CE24 is essentially a stunning 24 fret PRS guitar with the addition of a bolt on neck. Typically the argument for bolt on necks as opposed to set neck construction comes down to a few very desirable factors. A bolt on neck can be adjusted to a much greater extent as to that of a set neck, offering players the ability to fine tune the angle of the guitar neck to his or her liking. Contrary to popular belief, bolt-on necks actually sustain and resonate slightly more than set necks do. This extra resonance can be felt through the back of the back of the neck and is considered to be one of the fundamental ingredients that gives a certain other USA manufacturer their secret sauce.
Many guitar manufacturers using set-neck construction also tend to follow the trend of the angled back headstock. While a beautiful touch and beneficial to intonation and sustain, an angled headstock can break very easily even if lightly dropped. The bolt-on neck we see here is both elegant and replaceable should the unthinkable happen. Its a good move by Paul Reed Smith and fans of the company have taken a real shine to these welcome changes.
Featuring a stunningly carved flamed Maple top on a Mahogany body, Maple neck with East Indian Rosewood fretboard and classic PRS bird inlays. This guitar plays just as good as it looks and it looks exceptional.
The 85/15 pick ups were designed by Paul himself and feature volume and push/pull tone control with 3-way toggle switch for a total of six classic sounds.
