Excellent Birmingham store service - Dave A****
I was greeted by a chap called Dave and i explained i was interested in buying another guitar, a Fender Stratocaster to be precise. I explained i wanted to try a few options and in particular i was attracted to flashy looking guitars. I selected several to play and Dave took me to a practice room where i spent a couple of hours playing different guitars. His knowledge was excellent and he was very patient. Dave listened to what i wanted as a musician and provided the right equipment when i needed it followed by advice on the differences between each one. I settled on a very good guitar and a couple of pedals. If you are going to buy from PMT, GO TO THE BIRMINGHAM STORE.

Overview

Meet the Moog Sub Phatty - Bob Moog's grittiest analog synthesizer to date, and surprisingly one of their most affordable. This boutique synth offers great value for sound designers, music producers and electronic musicians to tweak authentic Moog sounds on a smaller budget.

Raw, aggressive analogue sound design

The fundamental grit and warmth of the Sub Phatty is powered by Moog MultiDrive circuitry. Once you really start to push the amplifier section, Multidrive kicks in and adds more distortion and aggression than classic Moog synths, with that extra high-mid bite when you need it. Add it to the Sub oscillator and those sweepable waves and you have three factors that already give this synth some extra sonic character.

Sub Phatty features a responsive 25-key, 2-octave keybed that makes bass and leads a joy to play and record via MIDI or USB with your DAW.

Easy Signal Flow

Normally, analogue synths take a while to warm up into their 'sweet spot', but Sub Phatty sounds great as soon as you fire it up and start tweaking.

The sonic engine includes a a sub oscillator that outputs a square wave one octave below Oscillator 1. Use this powerful tool as a third oscillator for added depth, or to craft your own customized incarnation of monstrous Moog sub bass. A noise generator is also voiced to deliver low-frequency sound, rich with body and punch.

Deep Programmability

The Sub Phatty features a very user intuitive interface and mixer section, designed to make quick sound creation as easy as possible. Centered around a large Filter Cutoff dial, the Sub Phatty is wonderfully easy to programme and tweak. Whether you're crafting sounds for the studio or tweaking in live performance, Sub Phatty offers full control.

Fitted with 25 full-size synth action keys, 16 presets with panel mode, and a 31 knob front panel, Moog’s classic control design plugs you straight into the analog heart of this powerful new instrument.

Easy Preset Management

One thing that modern musicians depend on is seamless connectivity between hardware and software. Sub Phatty delivers just that, with straightforward Editor/Librarian software included. Real time editing, preset sharing and library management ensure you get the most out of your synth. Host DAW integration also unlocks Powerful HIDDEN and SHIFT MODE features.

The Moog SubPhatty delivers a fearless, articulate sound that more than honors the rich sonic density synonymous with Moog creations.
