Excellent Birmingham store service - Dave A****
I was greeted by a chap called Dave and i explained i was interested in buying another guitar, a Fender Stratocaster to be precise. I explained i wanted to try a few options and in particular i was attracted to flashy looking guitars. I selected several to play and Dave took me to a practice room where i spent a couple of hours playing different guitars. His knowledge was excellent and he was very patient. Dave listened to what i wanted as a musician and provided the right equipment when i needed it followed by advice on the differences between each one. I settled on a very good guitar and a couple of pedals. If you are going to buy from PMT, GO TO THE BIRMINGHAM STORE.

Overview

Founded back in 2004, Hotone are some what new to the industry. The result of this means that Hotone have thought outside the box to bring something unique to the table. There are a few points to make that highlight how Hotone have been able to do this.

For The Players

Like all the pedals featured within this range, the Wally packs the performance you would expect from a larger pedal. In a beautiful, compact design. Added touches such as a protection bar across the pedals top side prevent accident damage too. Hotone have the players in mind. This is also reflected with a competitive price.

Design

As mentioned, the 'Skyline' range of pedals pack all that punch into a small but durable package. Measuring in at just 74mm in length!

Quirky design cues such as the primary dial control at the back distinguish these pedals. This also prevents accidental knocking of a preferred setting during a live gigging environment.

Build Quality

Weighing in a 190g the Hotone 'Wally' has a quality feel and weight to it. A solid metal housing ensures that these bad boys won't give up on even the most enthusiastic, face pulling guitar players.

Features

Wally is a mini loop station which can record up to 15 minutes of loop phrases in one storable memory. Separate input/output level controls and a tempo variation, also feature on this pedal. So smart and simple, this little guy gives other loopers an inferiority complex.

Most of us don’t need a big looper rig. But we’re also not so dense that we’d sacrifice loop functionality for one-button simplicity. Wally gives you the looping tricks you need in a small and cool looking droid. You can figure it out with a 30 second scan over the manual! The smart LED lights let you know what mode you’re in, you’re ready to go.

Wally rises above the other compact loopers by making up for their functional deficiencies. This micro looper also includes independent in/out volume controls. After all, you can’t get the loop and recording levels sounding right with just one knob. So loop away! You get fifteen minutes of storeable loop phrases! An extra know allows you to increase or decrease the loop tempo, which you can use to mix things up on stage.

How did we get all that into the smallest looper stompbox out there? With a little intuition: we stacked the circuit boards and then squeezed them into a durable zinc-alloy casing.

Why you need it? Every guitarist should have a looper at least for songwriting and phrase practice. Wally has all the right stuff in a smart box you definitely have space on your pedal board for.
