Gretsch G9202 Honey Dipper Special Resonator
Before the existence of a mass produced electric guitar, many guitarists of the 1920's felt overwhelmed when playing along side horns and brass instruments in dance groups. This called for the creation of a louder acoustic guitar.
Resonator or 'Resophonic' guitars as they are sometimes called, creates it's sound from a spun metal cone underneath the distinctive 'pie tin' resonator top. The bridge and strings run directly to this plate where the sound 'resonates' to produce the classic bluegrass sound, loved by players world over for years.

A 1930s-style Gretsch headstock with aged pearloid face and screened headstock graphic along with a Cactus Flower finish. The heart of this richly resounding resonator is the Gretsch Ampli-Sonic resonator cone, which is hand-spun in Eastern Europe from nearly 99-percent pure aluminum for fantastic volume and sonic projection.
Along with a Biscuit Ebony Tipped Maple bridge, the 25" scale mahogany roundneck sports a comfy medium V shape and is topped with a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard and a bone nut. Case not included.
