Overview

Gretsch G9202 Honey Dipper Special Resonator

Before the existence of a mass produced electric guitar, many guitarists of the 1920's felt overwhelmed when playing along side horns and brass instruments in dance groups. This called for the creation of a louder acoustic guitar.

Resonator or 'Resophonic' guitars as they are sometimes called, creates it's sound from a spun metal cone underneath the distinctive 'pie tin' resonator top. The bridge and strings run directly to this plate where the sound 'resonates' to produce the classic bluegrass sound, loved by players world over for years.

A beautiful resonator guitar from Gretsch featuring a round neck profile for traditionaln playing feel,

A New Take On A Classic

The Gretsch G9210 Honey Dipper Resonator features a round neck for traditional playing as apposed to a square, lap-steel style neck usually found on these instruments. This gives a great balance between the traditional resonator and acoustic guitar, making it a great entry level instrument for those looking to brance to new exciting instruments.

This beautiful resonator guitar is built with a crafted bell brass body and features the same F holes as the G9201 with the addition of aged fingerboard binding.

A 1930s-style Gretsch headstock with aged pearloid face and screened headstock graphic along with a Cactus Flower finish. The heart of this richly resounding resonator is the Gretsch Ampli-Sonic resonator cone, which is hand-spun in Eastern Europe from nearly 99-percent pure aluminum for fantastic volume and sonic projection.

Along with a Biscuit Ebony Tipped Maple bridge, the 25" scale mahogany roundneck sports a comfy medium V shape and is topped with a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard and a bone nut. Case not included.

Heres What Gretsch Have To Say

Add some color to your sound with the limited-release G9202 Honey Dipper Special. This round-neck resonator guitar has all the same features as the wildly popular G9201 Honey Dipper, with the additions of aged white fingerboard binding, screened headstock graphic and "Cactus Flower" or "Swamp Green" finishes.

The vital feature of all Gretsch resonator guitars is the all-new Gretsch "Ampli-Sonic" diaphragm (resonator cone). Hand-spun in Eastern Europe from nearly 99-percent pure aluminum, the Ampli-Sonic diaphragm yields an impressive quality and volume of tone.
