We were looking to purchase an electronic drum kit for our son. We visited PMT back in September to have a look at the range of items they had. While there an assistant came to offer help and advice on the different sets that were available. My son was also allowed to try them out too. After choosing one he liked we went away to research as it was intended for a Christmas present. On looking the item up it showed that for the same money you could get extra items. We then returned and asked if they would price match as we believe in trying to support the local business, but ultimately things do come down to price and value. To our delight they were happy to price match, and as a result we even upgraded. The service from viewing to purchasing was really good, as these musical instruments are not cheap and you need good honest advice when purchasing. Would totally recommend this company.

Overview

Gibson Les Paul Classic Plain Top 2016 Limited Proprietary - GoldTop. The Limited Edition Proprietary runs take Gibson's tried and tested aesthetic touches and simple design tweaks to ensure you get the most authentic, pure tone possible from this gorgeous Les Paul Classic. This 2016 reissue returns to the original slim taper neck, along a pair of '57 Classic humbuckers for roaring rock and roll tone. This is just like buying a brand new Les Paul in 1957 - as authentic as it feels.

Plain Maple Top & PAF-style Classic '57 pickups - perfect for vintage, Eric Clapton & Bluesbreakers-style Les Paul tones!

If you dig Clapton’s Bluesbreakers’ tone, Duane’s tone with the Allman Brothers, bluesmen like Luther Allison and B.B. King, etc., then this is your go-for-blood hound. Complete with the “Patent Applied For” decal on their bassplates, these pickups are faithful reproductions of the originals, providing warm, even tones with nice full response and crunch to spare. Many consider these humbuckers to be the Holy Grail of the “true” Gibson sound. The ’57 Classic has a special Gibson Alnico II magnet, vintage enamel coated wire, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers and vintage-style, two-conductor, braided wiring – all true to form

Classic tonewoods come as expected, with a chambered Mahogany body for weight relief, mahogany neck and both complemented by a rosewood fingerboard. The Les Paul Classic Plain Top is a faithful rendition of the original, representing the ultimate in playability and craftsmanship of the highest standard.
