Excellent Birmingham store service - Dave A****
I was greeted by a chap called Dave and i explained i was interested in buying another guitar, a Fender Stratocaster to be precise. I explained i wanted to try a few options and in particular i was attracted to flashy looking guitars. I selected several to play and Dave took me to a practice room where i spent a couple of hours playing different guitars. His knowledge was excellent and he was very patient. Dave listened to what i wanted as a musician and provided the right equipment when i needed it followed by advice on the differences between each one. I settled on a very good guitar and a couple of pedals. If you are going to buy from PMT, GO TO THE BIRMINGHAM STORE.

Overview

Considered by many as the 'holy grail' of Electric Guitars, the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Custom represents the dawn of a new era of musical instruments. This is a guitar collectors dream - don't miss out on your chance to get one!

Fantastic re-issue of a timeless Les Paul with Vintage Original Specification.

The Gibson CS9 is a meticulous recreation of the original Les Paul Standard of 1959. Originally introduced to the world in a cherry red sunburst finish, it retained most features of the 1957 Goldtop that came before it. After 5 decades, the Les Pauls of the 1950s have become highly sought after and Gibson's VOS design process ensures an authentic, accurate feel and tone.

A solid Mahogany body has become the trademark for iconic Les Paul tone - plenty of top end bite and sustain that just sings. Without the more contemporary weight relief employed on modern Les Pauls, the CS9 is somewhat heavier but the difference in tone and feel is really something special. The lightly faded 'Iced Tea' burst rests upon a carved figured maple top, which surprisingly wasn't as popular when originally introduced by Gibson in 59. However, as with all premium tonewoods, these guitars really come to life the older they get, and sound better with time. This all adds up to make the CS9 a superb long-term investment for the serious player or collector.

Period-correct appointments include an early 50s rounded profile, 1-piece Mahogany neck , Rosewood fingerboard, trapezoid inlays and authentic nickel hardware.

This is your chance to get your hands on a period-correct 50s Les Paul that sounds, and plays, absolutely wonderfully. Order today at PMT Online or pop in-store for more advice on the right Gibson for you!
