Band?

The Deadhearts

Your favourite gear that you constantly use?
Potential controversy, but my Korean Tokai Les Pauls. I have 3 which I've customised and modified to my liking, and they never do me wrong!

Current favourite amp?
I swear by my Blackstar HT-50 for most of my work... But the Evil Robot has to come in at joint first; Vintage style awesomeness plus an overdrive and it kicks like a mule!

What is the coolest gig you have ever played?
It's a throw down between the Carlisle shows with my old band where the crowds were off the chart, or the first ever gig I did with The Deadhearts, no one really knew us as a band yet but they were singing the songs and going insane. An unreal feeling!

Who are three people or bands who have highly influenced you in music?
My first major influence was Richie Blackmore of Deep Purple, his improv skills were a true inspiration. Ginger Wildheart opened my eyes to wonderfully diverse songwriting and Nicke Borg, in fact Backyard Babies as a whole, for generally being the coolest and truest of modern Rock ‘n' Roll bands.

Where did you play your first gig?
Newton-on-the-Moor Village hall, age 12. It was at a friend's birthday party, and my band was the only band in our school. We didn't have a drummer at the time so used the preset beats on an old Casio keyboard through some beat up amp... Priceless!
