Compact Analog Flanger

Used by legendary musicians such as Andy Summers of The Police and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd to achieve beautiful, entrancing guitar sounds. The Electric Mistress returned first in the Deluxe Electrix Mistress iteration and now the Deluxe Electric Mistress XO edition.
XO Edition

The XO edition of the Deluxe Electric Mistress flanger pedal gives you the same great sound of the classic Deluxe but with some improvements and a smaller footprint.

Listening to feedback from their customer-base, Electro-Harmonix recreated the Deluxe Electric Mistress in a much smaller, compact design that means the pedal is a lot easier to transport and fits nicely on your pedalboard.

Many people also commented that on the previous, “big box”, iteration there would be a significant volume drop when the pedal’s effect was engaged. Electro-Harmonix have addressed this issue and provided a seamless transition between engagement and disengagement of the effect.

Setting Controls

The Electro Harmonix Deluxe Electric Mistress XO gives you great range of settings and adjustments for you to experiment with and find your favourite sounds. They come in the form of three knobs and a switch.

First there’s the “COLOR” knob. This allows you to set the intensity of the flanger effect. The further clockwise you turn the knob, the more pronounced the effect becomes. This is what gives you the classic whooshing effect that flangers are famous for.

“RATE” allows you to control the speed of the flanger modulation. Turning the knob clockwise increases the flanger’s speed. Turning it up to the highest settings will give you a vibrato-like effect.

Then there’s the “RANGE” knob, allowing you to set the lower limit of the flanger sweep. The further clockwise you turn the knob, the further into the bass region the flanger sweeps go.

Lastly, the “FILTER MATRIX” switch, when flicked to its ON position to the right, disconnects the modulation waveform from the flanger circuit, freezing the flanger and creating a matrix of filters. You can then turn the “RANGE” knob to change the position of the filters and the “COLOR” knob to come up with some really unique effects.
