For those unaware of the festival, Bloodstock was originally started in 2001 by artist and metal fan Paul Gregory, who began with a much smaller, indoor metal festival headlined by Saxon. The philosophy back then was to create something, “by the fans, for fans”. This tradition has been strictly held ever since by the Gregory family and it has helped to grow this much-loved festival into the Goliath metal weekender that is today.

One of the most unique features of BOA is that unsigned bands are able to play alongside internationally established acts via the regional 'Metal 2 the Masses' campaigns. These competitions offer unsigned bands to compete for a 30 minute slot in front of one the biggest metal audiences in the UK.

This year’s BOA is happening from the 6th to the 9th August. International acts include heavy weights Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse, Black Label Society, Trivium and the visually stunning Rob Zombie. Other festival highlights include Raging Speedhorn and UK thrash monsters Reign of Fury. And in the spirit of BOA2015, we have created our very own gear line-up to help you get the sound of Bloodstock at home!
