On Saturday 21st March, thousands of people across the UK flocked to their local music shop for Music’s for All’s annual charity event: Learn To Play Day.
This year at Professional Music Technology, hundreds of people visited the ten (soon to be eleven!) stores to get involved in a day of free music lessons and fun.
Around two hundred lessons were provided in-store from local tutors, artists and brand ambassadors on Learn To Play Day, which included Jason Bolwd (Pitchfork, AxeWound), Steve Smith (Marshall Amps), Sergio Montebello (Orange Amps), Craig Blundell (Roland), Dom Sigalas (Yamaha), Nick Breakspear (Black Hats), Richard Hillyer and Henry Wilson (Mobile Guitar Tuition, Bristol), Drew McDonald and Sam Hurst (Blackstar), Ben and Andrew (D’Addario) and Paul Hindmarsh (Line 6). And not forgetting the lads from PMT Romford visited Havering Music School with some awesome Fender and Gibson guitars for the kids to try out!
International drummer for Usher, Aaron Spears, was certainly the highlight of the weekend, providing a sold-out drum clinic at PMT Leeds on Sunday evening. Attendees described Aaron’s workshop as “unmissable”, “inspirational” and “epic”.
All members of staff agreed that they loved meeting new customers on the day, and they cannot wait to see everyone in-store again... And hopefully there now will be some fantastic budding artists in the making! A big PMT thanks goes out to everyone involved in Learn To Play Day 2015, and we can’t wait for the next.
