2015 is a very exciting year for Korg, as the ARP Odyssey has once again come back into musician’s midst after forty years after its original release in a slightly more compact casing and including a few modern features such as MIDI and USB connections. However, the distinctive synthesis of the ARP Odyssey has been reproduced from the circuit level up, so check out 'em out in all their glory.
Korg ARP Odyssey Mini Analog Synth
This Korg ARP Odyssey in Black and Orange recreates the seventies ARP Odyssey MkIII model, one of the best and most legendary analogue synths ever built. For the players who are tired of digital emulations, this is the real deal - a very tweakable, "organic" sounding synth that's been used in all fields of popular music, from Rock 'n' Roll to Soul, Funk and Electronica.
Korg ARP Odyssey REV1 Mini Analog Synth
This Limited-Edition Korg ARP Odyssey REV1 recreates the seventies ARP Odyssey MkI model, with the appropriate colour scheme to match the original from 1972. The REV1 has a 12 dB/Oct circuit that produces a sharp, punchy sound.
Korg ARP Odyssey REV2 Mini Analog Synth
This Limited-Edition Korg ARP Odyssey REV2 recreates the seventies ARP Odyssey MkII model, which includes distinctive filters that have been reproduced just as they originally were. The REV2 has a 24 dB/Oct filter with better-sounding lows.
Korg MS20M and SQ-1 Analog Rack Synth Kit
It’s not all about the ARP Odyssey at Korg though, as they have also released a new MS20 Mini Module Kit. The MS20M is a more convenient, sleek version of the classic analogue synth that Korg recently resurrected so successfully. It still carries the same components and delivers the same fat, warm sound; but this time it is keyboardless. In addition, the MS20M comes with the new SQ-1 Step Sequencer.
SQ-1 2x8 Step Sequencer
The Korg SQ-1 2x8 Step Sequencer is also available to buy as a standalone piece, for those that wish to liberate themselves from the numerically-bound parameter editing that's typical on a DAW. The SQ-1’s wealth of connection jacks allows it to be connected to the MS-20 and a variety of other synthesizers, such as the MS20 Mini, ARP Odyssey and Volca Series, any vintage analog synth or the latest compact synths can be controlled from this single unit.
