England had Sid Vicious, but America gave us Dee Dee Ramone - the original punk hellraiser! Fender has announced a fitting tribute to the legendary Ramones bassist, who co-wrote some of their best tunes: the Dee Dee Ramone Signature Precision Bass, arriving in 2015. It already looks like one of the nicest instruments Fender will release next year!
Dee Dee played a Precision Bass for most of his career in the Ramones, and the new Dee Dee Signature model is a faithful replica of his favourite bass guitar: an Olympic White Precision bass with black scratch plate, "C" shaped maple neck with a maple fingerboard and a 9.5" radius, and 20 Vintage-style frets that maximize comfort and playability.
Chrome hardware includes a Standard Vintage 4 saddle bass bridge and open gear tuners. Other features include a Dee Dee Ramone signature decal on the back of the headstock, and a special “One Two Three Four” engraved neck plate. A deluxe Fender Gig Bag is included, along with an exclusive booklet.
