The aim is to give anyone who’d like to try their hand at making music the opportunity to do so, and this is the 3rd Year of the event which has proven extremely successful in getting both young and old people back into playing or learning a musical instrument. If you've ever felt the urge to pick up a guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or piano, but never known where to start, this event is for you!

Head down to your participating local PMT Store from the list below and get hands-on advice on how to start playing guitar, ukulele, bass, drums or keys!

PMT Birmingham (Free instrument lessons and workshops in conjunction with Academy of Music and Sound for Guitar, Ukulele, Drums and Piano)

PMT Manchester (Free 1 Hour music lesson with any instrument purchase on the day, tutoring and clinics supported by Ibanez and other manufacturers!)

PMT Leeds (5 tutors in attendance in conjunction with Music Nation Leeds and Roland Planet)

PMT Northampton (Dedicated Guitar, Bass and Drum Tuition alongside Music Production guides and guest appearances from Northampton Mayor and TheYardbirds' Ben King)

PMT Bristol (Music and Instrument Lessons from in-house guitar tutors)

Learn To Play Day is also partnered by the Take It Away finance provider. Take it away is an Arts Council England initiative which aims to get more children and young people playing music by providing interest free loans for the purchase of musical instruments. The scheme is open to adults buying a musical instrument for a child under the age of 18, and 18-25 year olds who can apply in their own right.
