PMT Goes Orange with Mikey Demus from Skindred

Somewhere in between roots and heavy rock, a band has emerged with a style like no other. Hailing from Newport, Wales, that band is Skindred. Skindred have been around since lead singer Benji Webbe's previous band Dub War, split up and they have not looked back since. The band have an exciting summer ahead of them with a busy schedule of festivals over Europe, just in time to rock out at Reading & Leeds festival back in the UK on August 23rd and 24th.

Skindred have also announced their forthcoming 'Kill The Power'. Here's what Benji had to say to Metal Hammer about their new material expected to be released this year:

“Kill The Power is our fifth studio album...We are more than excited to unleash this Skindred bomb on the world! Kill The Power is for all them that are sick of being the underdog, and wanna step up and destroy all those who oppress and hold them down! Use this album as a backdrop to overcome and take your life back! We ain’t fighting the power no more – we are definitely killing it!”

Meet & Greet Mikey Demus at PMT Birmingham On The 28th September!

Mikey Demus is a guitarist passionate about the gear he uses. Often delving to the depths of drop C tuning he needs equipment that's going to deliver the crunch for low-end chords. A self-confessed hot-rodder, often modding his fender with custom seymour duncan pickups Mikey D also relies on Orange amplifiers to project his sound.

You can expect Mikey to be going through how he creates his signature tone with Orange amps, demonstrating with some of Skindred's dub influenced metal.

Test your Valves with the Orange VT1000 Valve Tester:

Valve sound quality and tone are something very close to the hearts of PMT customers. Known for depth, warmth and uncompromising analog tone – you can't beat a valve amplifier. Also available on Mikey D's visit will be a Valve test kit on demo and we're inviting you to bring in a test out your amplifier valves. The VT1000 is equipped to test varying valve types (Power, EL84, Preamp) and can test your valve in around 2 minutes with a 'Good', 'Worn' or 'Fail' analysis.
