The Line 6 James Tyler Variax guitars have the capability of emulating many classic sounding guitar timbres, from vintage electric guitars to a range of acoustic instruments. The JTV-59 is essentially 29 instruments in one; go from a Rickenbacker to even a banjo sound with a flick of a switch. Not only does the guitar have the capability of emulating many different instruments, you can also access popular tuning settings with no need to manually tune the electric guitar yourself.
The Variax Workbench software also opens up capabilities to customise tuning and guitar settings even further, combining body types (semi-hollow, acoustic etc), pickup types (single-coil, humbucking) and more.
If you want to see excatly what you can achieve with the JTV59 and how it can be incorporated into your set up other Line 6 such as the POD HD500 pedal and DT25 amplifier, visit PMT Cambridge this Saturday 25th May. From 11am, Paul Hindmarsh, Line 6 product demonstrator will be running an in-store guitar clinic, showing how you can achieve any guitar tone with this powerful and versatile setup. His experience as a recording and touring musician whilst having plenty of product experience, previously managing a UK music retail chain is definitely a reason to visit PMT Cambridge.
