All drums, drummers and music genres are unique and have their own style, there are however some dos, don'ts, tricks and tips you can adapt to make sure you are getting the best sound out of your drums that is right for you. For jazz drum tuning, heads are often tuned at the same pitch resulting a highly resonant sound. For pop genres the bottom head will often be tuned approximately a minor third lower. This gives the drum a shorter decay and more complex tone. Whatever your drumming style PMT Birmingham, are running a Remo drum tuning work shop with expert Jeff Davenport to make sure you are getting the most for your drums.
The Remo drum tuning workshop is running from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 8th June. From 10am to 4pm, Jeff and our Birmingham drum department will be available for tuning tips on an individual basis, if you have your drum specs and what you would like to achieve, come down for a chat to see how you can make simple yet effective changes to your kit.
From 4 to 5pm jeff Davenport will be taking us through a tuning master class ensuring you get a balanced tone on your drums. Tuning your drums can take a lot of patience and testing out different setups which will suit you. Our aim of the day is to point you in the right direction, so you'll want to practice and play the drums even more!
