Building on the success of the original MPD series, Akai's new MPD226 has morphed into the ultimate MPC-style USB controller for beatmaking, production and software automation.

At the core of the Akai MPD226 lies 16 of the legendary MPC-style drum pads, now made more responsive and fatter than ever. RGB backlights give you realtime feedback, even in the darkest club or studio environment. With the Bank Select switches, you can instantly expand your pad control surface across 4 banks for 64 triggers at your disposal. 3 banks of assignable faders and rotary controls open up your synths and software parameters for easy editing on the fly. Classic MPC functionality will appear to the vintage hip-hop heads, with Note Repeat, Swing, 16 / Full Level and Tap Tempo functions to add a new dynamic to your grooves.
MPD226 comes with 30 presets pre-loaded out the box, which automatically map the control surface to FL Studio, Reason, Cubase, Logic, Battery, plus many more key software packages.
